WordPress Plugins are PHP scripts that extend the functionality of WordPress. They enhance the features of WordPress, or add entirely new features to your site. Plugins are often developed by volunteers, and are usually free to the public.
# Uninstalling Plugins
Plugins have a safe and easy-to-use uninstaller. If that’s unavailable to you for some reason, you can also manually uninstall them.
# Automatic Uninstallation
The safe and easy way to uninstall a plugin is via the WordPress admin screen.
Navigate to your Plugins admin screen and locate the plugin to be installed.
Before we get too comfortable, we are going change it up and launch the WordPress Dashboard to get to the ADMIN PANEL from the Homepage top-most toolbar. If you stepped away, or happen to be lost, click the button below to jump right to the WordPress Admin Panel, then start with step 2.
Step 2
Welcome to the WordPress Admin Panel, this is where you manage the rest of your site! Don’t worry, you don’t have to do much back here.
Step 3
Now hover over PLUGINS and click INSTALL PLUGINS.
Step 4
If you stepped away, or happen to be lost, click the button below to jump right to the WordPress Admin Plugins Panel, then click DEACTIVATE under the plugin ingeniously titled “Delete This Plugin” and moe onto the next step!
Step 5
You will receive a green success update saying “Plugin deactivated.” The “Delete This Plugin” row will turn the color white and give you the option (under the name) to ACTIVATE or DELETE the plugin. Click DELETE to remove the plugin.
Step 5
You will be prompted and asked “Are you sure you want to delete Delete This Plugin and its date?” Now, click OK.
Step 6
You will be prompted that “Delete This Plugin was successfully deleted.” That’s all folks! Onto the next lesson!
